Hong Kong's Environmental Protection Department Inspects a Mainland Food Waste Treatment Project by a Startup Group.

2026.01.12

Recently, a delegation from the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department visited Hefei Feifan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and Xuancheng Xichong Biotechnology Co., Ltd.—both subsidiaries of Chuangye Group (Stock Code: 2221.HK)—to conduct on-site research on food waste treatment projects and gather practical experience for the renovation of local food waste treatment facilities in Hong Kong.

Hefei Feifan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was the first stop of the tour. As the operator of Anhui Province’s first operational food waste treatment project, the company employs Chuangye Group’s core technologies and processes. Operating under a BOT model, it holds the concession for food waste treatment in Hefei’s urban area. The facility has established a mature, end-to-end operational system covering waste reception, pretreatment, and resource recovery. With a designed daily processing capacity of 200 tons, it has achieved the goals of “reduction, harmless disposal, and resource recovery.” The delegation conducted on-site inspections of key aspects such as the enclosed management of the unloading workshop and the sorting efficiency of the pretreatment production line. They inquired about facility construction standards, operational data, and compliance with regulatory requirements, and highly recognized the reliability and advanced nature of Chuangye Group’s technical processes. Both parties also engaged in in-depth discussions on core renovation issues, including technical parameter alignment, equipment operation and maintenance cost control, and responses to extreme operating conditions. The project manager in Hefei provided detailed explanations of opportunities for technical optimization and implementation priorities based on operational experience.

Following the conclusion of the Hefei project inspection, the delegation proceeded to Xuancheng City to visit Xuancheng Xichong Biotechnology Co., Ltd. This project represents a strategic initiative by Chuangye Group to enhance its food waste treatment network in East China, responsible for the unified collection, harmless treatment, and resource utilization of food waste in Xuancheng City as well as the Langxi and Jingxian districts. The delegation conducted an on-site inspection of the project’s operations and received a briefing from the company on its comprehensive treatment solutions for pollutants—including exhaust gases, wastewater, and solid waste—as well as the application of food waste pulping pretreatment technology. They engaged in in-depth discussions with company representatives on key issues such as differences in environmental standards between Hong Kong and Anhui, and adjustments to ensure technological compliance. The delegation concluded that the Xuancheng project’s large-scale deployment and standardized construction further demonstrates the replicability of Chuangye Group’s technical processes and provides an important reference for the renovation of Hong Kong’s food waste treatment plants.

At the conclusion of the visit, representatives from the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department stated that the inspection had achieved its expected outcomes. Through on-site research, they confirmed the core advantages of Chuangye Group’s technology in terms of stability, environmental friendliness, and economic efficiency, which fully align with the needs of Hong Kong’s food waste treatment plant renovations. As an international metropolis, Hong Kong faces significant pressures and challenges in food waste disposal. They look forward to deepening cooperation with Chuangye Group to enhance the level of resource utilization of local food waste.

A representative from Chuangye Group responded that this inspection and recognition serve as an authoritative endorsement of the Group’s technical strength and operational capabilities, noting that the mature practices of its two mainland subsidiaries fully demonstrate the feasibility of its technology and processes. Moving forward, Chuangye Group will fully cooperate with the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department to complete the final review of the renovation project. The Group will deploy its core technical team to ensure the project progresses with high quality, thereby helping Hong Kong build a more efficient and environmentally friendly food waste disposal system.

This inspection provided critical support for the final review of the Hong Kong food waste treatment plant renovation, highlighting Chuangye Group’s core competitiveness in the field of environmental protection technology. Going forward, Chuangye Group will continue to prioritize technological innovation, deepen its commitment to the environmental protection industry, and contribute further to the green and low-carbon development of both Hong Kong and the mainland.
